Woman charged with DUI in Jericho

JERICHO, VT — A Jericho woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash in Jericho on Nov. 21.

Vermont State Police were notified of the crash at 6:46 p.m. on VT Route 15.

Troopers made contact with the driver, identified as Melissa Phelan, 54, of Jericho.

Police said they observed signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety exercises.

At the conclusion of the exercises, Phelan was taken into custody and transported to the Williston State Police Barracks for processing.

Phelan was subsequently released with a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Dec. 11 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the DUI charge.
