Arrest made in Mattapan homicide investigation

BOSTON, MA — Police have arrested a Mattapan man in connection with the stabbing death of a Boston resident in Mattapan.

Officers assigned to the Boston Police Fugitive Unit took Javonte Robinson, 29, of Mattapan, into custody around 3:07 p.m.
Sunday in the area of 247 Neponset Valley Parkway, Hyde Park.

Robinson was wanted on a warrant issued from Dorchester District Court for the murder of Tyquan Pooler, 45, of Boston.

Police said the original incident took place at approximately 7:20 p.m. Saturday, when officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a report of a person stabbed at 30 Fremont Street, Mattapan.

Upon arrival, officers found Pooler suffering from a stab wound.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate.
