DELHI, NY — A Walton resident has been arrested following allegations of falsely reporting an incident in Delhi, authorities said.
Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of Lacey Bailey, 19, of Walton.
According to the sheriff’s office, the Delaware County Communications Center received a call on Nov. 11 reporting that another individual required mental health assistance.
Deputies responded to a location in the Town of Delhi to conduct a welfare check.
Deputies interviewed the person identified by the caller, as well as several others at the scene.
During the investigation, deputies found inconsistencies in the initial complaint.
Following their findings, deputies arrested Bailey and charged her with one count of falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Bailey was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Town of Walton Court at a later date.
