Skier dies at Killington Ski Resort

KILLINGTON, VT — A New York man died at Killington Ski Resort on Wednesday morning after collapsing while skiing with friends.

Michael Dore, 56, of Wappingers Falls, New York, was found unresponsive in the K-1 area of the resort at 11:44 a.m.

Killington Ski Patrol arrived and attempted CPR on Dore.

He was pronounced deceased during ambulance transport.

Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Killington Police Department investigated the incident.

Investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and a medicolegal death investigator from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner determined that Dore’s death appears to be from a medical event and not a ski accident.

Nothing suspicious was observed or reported by first responders or witnesses.

No autopsy was ordered.
