CATO, NY — A Cato man was arrested after deputies say he menaced a woman with a shotgun during a domestic incident in the Town of Cato.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 4:55 p.m. on November 14, a woman arrived at the sheriff’s office to report a physical domestic incident involving James Daly, 58, of Cato.
An investigation determined that Daly allegedly menaced the woman at her residence with a shotgun.
Deputies obtained a warrant for Daly’s arrest on a charge of menacing in the third degree, a misdemeanor.
Daly was located at his residence the morning of November 15, and taken into custody at 7:16 a.m.
He was brought to centralized arraignment, where a full stay-away order of protection was issued.
Daly was released after arraignment and reappeared in Town of Cato Court at 6 p.m. on November 17.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
