FAIRFIELD, ME — A convicted felon was arrested on a firearm charge following a search warrant execution at a Burrill Street residence on Nov. 14.
Corey J. Schutz, 31, of Fairfield, was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, a Class C felony.
The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant at approximately 12:05 p.m. on Schutz’s motor vehicle and residence.
Four Sheriff’s Office detectives, three Waterville Police Department detectives, and a detective and captain from the Fairfield Police Department conducted the search.
Authorities seized a small amount of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, drug-related documentation, a 9mm pistol and a loaded 9mm ammunition clip.
The search warrant was obtained due to alleged illegal drug activities taking place in Somerset County.
The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is assisting with the investigation.
Schutz is a convicted felon due to a prior felony drug conviction in Kennebec County.
His bail was set at $500 cash, and his initial court appearance is scheduled for April 8, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.
Kimberley Landry, 25, of Fairfield, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs, a Class D offense.
Landry’s initial court appearance is scheduled for March 4, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.
