ELLENVILLE, NY — Ellenville police responded Monday, Nov. 17, at about 8:45 p.m. to a report of two people entering a residence and assaulting the occupant.
Ellenville rescue was requested to the scene, and the victim was transported to Ellenville Regional Hospital, where she was treated for head and neck injuries sustained during the assault.
Police conducted a search for both suspects over several days.
With assistance from the New York State Police BCI in Ellenville and Monroe, both suspects were arrested earlier today.
Michael Ajanovic, 25, of Napanoch has been charged with unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, assault in the third degree, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
Miranda Ajanovic, 27, of Monroe has been charged with strangulation in the second degree, assault in the third degree, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
Both suspects are being arraigned in CAP Court later this afternoon and will be returnable to Town of Wawarsing court.
Ellenville police were assisted by the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office in the investigation.
