SUTTON, NH — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on Route 103.
State Troopers assigned to the Troop D barracks responded to the reported hit-and-run crash at 6:48 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female walking along Route 103 had been struck by a westbound vehicle.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicated the suspect vehicle was an older-model Toyota sedan.
With assistance from the Bradford and Newbury police departments, a matching car was located at a home in Newbury.
The vehicle, a 1994 Toyota Camry, had damage consistent with evidence at the crash scene.
Troopers made contact with Heaven Martin, 24, of Newbury, at the home.
Martin was determined to have been the driver of the Toyota at the time of the crash.
She was charged with aggravated DUI and felony conduct after an accident.
The crash remains under active investigation.
