CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A 39-year-old man was arrested on a criminal contempt charge after allegedly violating an order of protection.
Spencer P. Burns, of Cortlandville, was taken into custody at 6:41 p.m. on Nov. 17 following a disturbance complaint.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the town at approximately 5:13 p.m.
Officers determined Burns had violated the terms of an order of protection.
Burns was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8 p.m. and released on his own recognizance.
Burns is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court on Nov. 26 at 11 a.m.
