VERONA, NY — A single-vehicle crash on Blackmans Corners Road left one person dead and another seriously injured on Nov. 18.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene at around 9:50 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injury, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
The vehicle was traveling northwest on Blackmans Corners Road when the operator lost control and exited the roadway before colliding with a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead as a result of the collision.
A passenger was transported to Wynn Hospital with serious injuries.
The names of the deceased and the passenger were not released.
Blackmans Corners Road was closed for the duration of the investigation but has since been reopened to the public.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Verona Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance Service.
