RINDGE, NH — Two people sustained life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Route 119 near Wellington Road.
Rindge Police and Rindge Fire/Rescue were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:46 p.m.
A westbound Toyota collided with a Jeep that turned onto Route 119 from Converseville Road.
The collision caused the Jeep to overturn and the Toyota to travel over the embankment.
The driver of the Jeep required extrication.
Both drivers, who were the sole occupants of their vehicles, sustained life-threatening injuries.
Two medical helicopters were requested, with one landing at the Cathedral of the Pines and the second landing at the Christian Outreach Church.
Both vehicles were deemed a total loss and were towed by Gauthier’s Auto Service of Jaffrey.
Route 119 was closed to through traffic for almost two hours.
Rindge units were assisted on scene by Jaffrey Police, Cheshire County Sheriff’s Department, Jaffrey Fire and Rescue, Jaffrey Rindge Memorial Ambulance, Winchendon Fire and Rescue, Ashby Fire and New Hampshire DOT.
All identifying information is being withheld pending appropriate notifications.
The accident remains under investigation by the Rindge Police Department.
