BEDFORD, NH — A Manchester woman and her male passenger were seriously injured following a crash into a concrete barrier at the Bedford Toll Plaza.

At 9:17 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, State Troopers from the Troop B barracks responded to a report of a single vehicle crash into a concrete barrier at the Bedford Toll Plaza.

The preliminary investigation determined that a gray 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Cheryl North, 76, of Manchester, was traveling southbound on the F.E. Everett Turnpike when the Chrysler veered and crashed into a concrete barrier at the toll plaza.

An adult male passenger and three dogs were also in the vehicle.

North and her passenger were transported to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Two of the three dogs were pronounced deceased by an area veterinarian after being transported by Bedford and Merrimack animal control officers.

Three southbound toll lanes on the F.E. Everett Turnpike were closed for approximately two and a half hours while the incident was being investigated.

Troopers were assisted on scene by members of the Bedford police and fire departments, Merrimack police and fire departments, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

While speed appears to be a factor, all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper First Class Tyler Duhamel at [email protected].
