Three injured in single-vehicle crash in Rindge

RINDGE, NH — Three people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a tree on NH Route 119 on Sunday night.

Rindge Fire and Rindge Rescue crews were dispatched to the area of 145 NH Route 119 at 7:40 p.m. for a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident with multiple serious injuries.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a single-vehicle accident with the vehicle off the road and into a tree.

All three occupants were out of the vehicle when EMS arrived, with one occupant reported to have been ejected.

A helicopter from UMASS Memorial LifeFlight was automatically dispatched but was unable to respond due to weather conditions.

All three patients were transported to area hospitals by ground ambulance.

Two of the patients suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a Level I trauma center in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The third patient suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Leominster, Massachusetts.

Route 119 was shut down in both directions for approximately 30 minutes while emergency personnel worked at the scene.

The cause of the crash is undetermined at this time.

Rindge Fire & Rescue was assisted on scene by crews from Jaffrey, Fitzwilliam, Winchendon, Massachusetts; Ashburnham, Massachusetts; Ashby, Massachusetts; and the Rindge Police Department.
