Man pleads guilty to murder in Millville

MILLVILLE, NJ — A Vineland man pleaded guilty Thursday to murder and related charges stemming from a fatal shooting last year.

Eric Bundy-Johnson, 35, of Vineland, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.

The charges stem from a shooting on Oct. 26, 2024, when Bundy-Johnson fired numerous rounds into a car occupied by two people.

Bonnie Hitchens, of Bridgeton, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died from her injuries.

The Millville Police Department and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office handled the investigation.

A second individual, Francesca Delvalle, 35, of Vineland, was also charged with murder and related offenses.

The indictment against her remains active and pending disposition.

The recommended sentence for Bundy-Johnson is 30 years in New Jersey State Prison on the murder charge.

He must serve 30 years before becoming eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act.

The recommended sentence on the attempted murder charge is 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act.

The recommended sentence on the weapons offenses is five years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to a three-and-a-half-year parole disqualifier.

All charges are to run concurrently.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 9, 2026, before the Honorable Cristen P. D’Arrigo, J.S.C.
