BOLTON, VT — A woman was cited for driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash on Bolton Valley Access Road on Nov. 9.
Vermont State Police responded to the area of 2276 Bolton Valley Access Road at approximately 10:12 p.m. for a report of a crash.
Troopers identified the operator as Celia Savoie, 38, of Bolton.
Police located a vehicle in a gulley off the shoulder facing northbound.
Investigation revealed Savoie was traveling north on Bolton Valley Access Road when she failed to navigate a turn in the roadway.
Savoie crossed the center of the roadway and went off the southbound shoulder.
Her 2016 Subaru Crosstrek crashed into a gulley, causing significant damage to the vehicle.
Savoie experienced back injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to University of Vermont Medical Center.
While investigating circumstances surrounding the crash, troopers suspected alcohol impairment from the operator and developed probable cause she was driving under the influence.
Weather conditions at the time included heavy rain and wet road conditions.
Savoie was issued a citation to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court on Dec. 18 at 8:30 a.m.
She was cited for DUI third offense and criminal refusal.
