Man arrested on drug charges in West Babylon

WEST BABYLON, NY — New York State Police arrested a West Babylon man Friday following a months-long narcotics investigation in Suffolk County.

Johnathan Moore, 48, of West Babylon, was taken into custody by members of the Troop L Community Stabilization Unit with assistance from the Troop L Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team and Forensic Investigation Unit.

State Police said the Community Stabilization Unit had been investigating ongoing narcotics sales in the West Babylon area since August.

Moore was charged with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the first degree, a Class A-I felony.

He also faces three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, Class A-II felonies.

Additional charges include three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, Class C felonies, and seven counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, Class B felonies.

Moore was also charged with two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, Class A misdemeanors.

Police seized approximately $150,000 in U.S. currency during the arrest.

Authorities also recovered approximately 540 grams of rock that tested positive for crack cocaine, 188 grams of white powder that tested positive for cocaine, and 120.3 grams of brownish powder that tested positive for heroin.

Additional substances seized included approximately 8.1 grams of powder that tested positive for U44770, a Schedule 1 stimulant, and approximately 11.8 grams of powdery substance that tested positive for 2CE, a hallucinogen.

Police also seized approximately 15.9 grams of powdery substance that tested positive for 4-Fluoro-alpha-pvp, a stimulant, and approximately 12.59 grams of substance that tested positive for 2CH, a hallucinogen.

Narcotics paraphernalia including scales and packaging materials were also recovered.
