STILLWATER, NY — A home health aide has been arrested in connection with the death of a 67-year-old woman.
Kyle J. Bliss, 36, of Huachuca City, Arizona, was taken into custody Nov. 14 by Stillwater police at the Cochise County Detention Center in Bisbee, Arizona.
Bliss is charged with second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, first-degree endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person or an incompetent or physically disabled person, first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle and second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
The arrest stems from an investigation into the November 2024 death of Jean Bull, 67, of Stillwater.
Police said Bliss was employed as a full-time home health care aide for Bull prior to her death.
Investigators allege Bliss engaged in reckless and neglectful conduct while providing care to Bull, which resulted in her death.
Bliss was turned over to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility, where he is being held pending further proceedings in Saratoga County Court.
The Stillwater Police Department was assisted by the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office, the Rensselaer County Medical Examiner’s Office, Saratoga County Adult Protective Services and the Huachuca City Police Department in Arizona.
