BOSTON, MA — A member of the Youth Violence Strike Force recovered a large-capacity magazine during a foot pursuit in the South End on Thursday.
At about 6:39 p.m. on Nov. 13, officers on patrol in the area of West Newton Street observed a group of individuals smoking marijuana near a playground.
Two officers exited their cruiser to speak with the group, who then fled on foot.
Two officers who remained in the cruiser followed one of the suspects and activated the vehicle’s lights and sirens to signal him to stop, but he refused.
The officers exited the cruiser and pursued the suspect on foot into an alley behind 5 Aguadilla Street.
The suspect was quickly stopped, and officers felt a firearm magazine inside his waistband.
A magazine containing 30 rounds was recovered from inside a jacket pocket.
Kymari Bullard-Howard, 18, of Boston, was placed under arrest.
He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
