1 min read

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor police arrested a Hartford man on an active arrest warrant early Friday morning.

Gary M. Griffin, 37, of Hartford, was taken into custody at 12:08 a.m. on charges of breach of peace in the second degree and criminal violation of a restraining order.

The charges stem from an October 2022 domestic violence investigation in which police determined Griffin tried to forcibly remove a victim from a South Windsor business where she had entered to call 9-1-1 and report ongoing domestic abuse that occurred in Hartford.

Griffin’s actions were also in violation of a restraining order from California.

Police established that Griffin fled to California after the incident.

Griffin was arrested in California and is serving an active prison sentence there.

Extradition was sought and granted, and Griffin was transferred to Connecticut and held on a $75,000 surety bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
