POTSDAM, NY — A 59-year-old man was arrested Thursday on charges related to the possession and promotion of child sexual abuse material.
Alexander M. Schreiber, of Potsdam, was taken into custody by the New York State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit, in coordination with Homeland Security Investigations and the Potsdam Police Department.
Schreiber was charged with one count of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, one count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, and one count of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
He was arraigned in Potsdam Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted jointly by the New York State Police, Homeland Security Investigations and the Potsdam Police Department.
