LEBANON, NH — A Canaan woman was arrested on drug charges following a September traffic stop that led to the seizure of crack cocaine and fentanyl.
Sharnay Handy, 33, was taken into custody Nov. 12 in the area of Advance Auto Parts in Lebanon on an arrest warrant.
The Lebanon Police Department initially stopped Handy’s vehicle on Main Street on Sept. 16 at approximately 2:18 p.m.
During that stop, officers discovered Handy had a Grafton County Superior Court warrant for failure to appear at a court hearing involving possession of controlled drugs, a Class A felony.
Officers noticed what appeared to be drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle during the arrest.
The vehicle was seized pending a search warrant.
Officers obtained a search warrant and located a large amount of crack cocaine and fentanyl inside the vehicle.
Handy was released on bail from Grafton County Superior Court on Sept. 17.
An arrest warrant was subsequently drafted charging Handy with controlled drug acts with intent to sell and possession of controlled drugs, both Class A felonies; transporting drugs in a motor vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a violation.
Handy was transported to the Grafton County House of Corrections, where she is being held pending her arraignment in 2nd Circuit Lebanon District Court on Nov. 13.
