Woman arrested on domestic assault charges in Calais

CALAIS, VT — State police arrested a woman on multiple charges following a domestic disturbance on Nov. 12.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to a residence on West County Road at approximately 10:04 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.

An investigation revealed that Clare Mills, 31, of Calais, had committed domestic assault and disorderly conduct, according to police.

When troopers attempted to take Mills into custody, she tried to cause physical injury to troopers and resisted arrest, police said.

Mills was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

She was issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court on Nov. 13 at 12:30 p.m.

Mills was lodged at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of bail.
