Woman injured in collision with snowplow in New Hartford

NEW HARTFORD, NY — A 65-year-old woman was injured Tuesday morning when her vehicle collided with a town snowplow on New Hartford Street.

Christine Carino, of Frankfort, was traveling northbound at approximately 9:30 a.m. when she lost control while negotiating a curve in the roadway, according to New Hartford Police.

Her 2010 Chevrolet sedan entered the southbound lane and struck the snowplow that was traveling southbound on New Hartford Street.

The snowplow operator, Matthew Jones, 51, of New Hartford, was not injured.

Carino was transported to Wynn Hospital for non-life-threatening chest injuries.

She was issued uniform traffic tickets for unreasonable speed and operating an uninspected motor vehicle.

Tuesday morning’s snowfall contributed to multiple automobile-related incidents, including 12 separate collisions and four calls for assistance where vehicles slid off the roadway.
