Man arrested on DUI charge in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, VT — A Fairfax man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on November 11.

Scott Rushford, 43, of Fairfax, was traveling south on Vermont Route 108 North at approximately 11:27 p.m. when he left the roadway and collided with a telephone pole, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to the scene at 1685 Vermont Route 108 North.

During the investigation, Rushford showed signs of impairment, police said.

He was screened and subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Rushford sustained minor injuries and was transported to Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans for medical evaluation.

His 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was totaled in the crash.

Road conditions at the time were wet and icy, with clear weather.

Rushford was released with a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on January 28, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charge of DUI refusal.
