ITALY, NY — Two vehicles collided head-on on Italy Valley Road on the morning of Nov. 10.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 8 a.m. in the area of 6200 Italy Valley Road.
Deputies determined that Ethan J. Smith, 17, of Naples, was traveling westbound in winter conditions when he failed to negotiate a turn.
Smith’s vehicle struck a pickup truck head-on that was being operated by Shane G. Troth, 33, of Naples.
Troth was not injured in the collision.
Smith was transported to Strong Hospital for upper right leg pain.
A traffic citation is pending against Smith.
Deputies C. Hansen and C. Betts responded to the scene.
Naples Fire Department, Naples Ambulance and Middlesex Ambulance also responded to the crash.
