PENN YAN, NY — Police arrested two women after they allegedly failed to pay for groceries at a self-checkout lane at a local grocery store.
Gabrielle Nemeth, 31, and Angela Nemeth, 60, both of Dundee, were arrested on two counts of petit larceny.
Officers responded to the grocery store for a report of people not paying for items at the self-checkout.
Police located the two women in the parking lot loading groceries into their car.
The women produced a receipt that showed they only paid for a small portion of the groceries they took, according to police.
Both women were also identified as suspects from a prior larceny at the same business.
Police transported both women to the police department for processing.
They were later released on appearance tickets for the two separate larcenies.
