POTSDAM, NY — New York State Police responded to a personal injury motor vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer and a passenger car at the intersection of South Canton Road and County Route 35 on Nov. 8 at approximately 7:17 p.m.
An investigation determined a 2019 white Subaru, operated by Emily G. Morse, 26, of Troy, with front seat passenger Elizabeth R. Morse, 20, of Troy, and rear passenger Michael Ngeyen, 28, of Troy, was traveling on South Canton Road approaching the intersection of County Route 35.
Morse failed to yield at the yield sign on South Canton Road, entering the intersection and striking the passenger side of a 1999 white Volvo diesel tractor trailer operated by Brent W. Eggleston, 50, of Hermon.
Eggleston attempted to swerve to avoid the collision, lost control of the truck, exited the roadway, and struck a fence.
Emily G. Morse, Elizabeth R. Morse, and Michael Ngeyen were treated on scene and transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for further evaluation.
Emily Morse and Ngeyen were treated and later released.
Elizabeth Morse was subsequently transported to Upstate University Hospital for additional treatment, where she is listed in stable condition.
Eggleston was medically evaluated on scene and found to be uninjured.
Emily G. Morse was issued vehicle and traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Potsdam Court at a later date in December.
