PENN YAN, NY — Penn Yan Police arrested two people following a disturbance call in the village.
Dameyon L. Miller, 22, of Penn Yan, and Kara P. Dougherty, 23, of Penn Yan, were taken into custody after police responded to the incident.
Police said their investigation revealed that Miller and Dougherty engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical fight.
Miller allegedly subjected Dougherty to unwanted physical contact in the presence of children.
Dougherty allegedly blocked Miller from leaving several times and withheld his car keys from him.
Miller was arrested on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second degree.
He was transported to the Yates County Jail for centralized arraignment.
Dougherty was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful imprisonment in the second degree.
Both are scheduled to appear in village court at a later date.
