HINSDALE, NY — A Buffalo man was arrested on multiple drug charges following a domestic incident at a motel on Nov. 9.
Fred A. Smith, 40, of Buffalo, was taken into custody at approximately 8:49 a.m. at the Moonlight Motel.
Deputies responded to a domestic incident complaint at the motel where a female was heard yelling “let me go.”
Upon arrival, deputies found Smith and the female attempting to leave in their vehicle.
Smith told deputies he was in possession of crack cocaine, which was seized.
A search of the vehicle yielded packaging material, a dilutant, $1,278 and drug paraphernalia.
Smith consented to a search of his motel room, where deputies found suspected MDMA and additional drug paraphernalia.
Smith was found to be on New York State Parole for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree.
He was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Olean Substation for processing.
Smith was arraigned in Hinsdale Town Court on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree for narcotics, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree for hallucinogenic substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree for packaging, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree for dilutant.
He was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash.
