BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 64-year-old man died early Saturday when fire engulfed a duplex residence on Beverly Road.
Burlington Township Police, Fire, and EMS units responded to the 900 block of Beverly Road at approximately 12:44 a.m. on Nov. 8 for a reported house fire.
Emergency personnel arrived to find the duplex fully engulfed in flames.
Multiple residents were inside the home when the fire began.
All occupants were able to escape the structure except Kenneth Jones, 64, of Burlington Township, who was unable to exit.
Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Fire crews remained on location and successfully extinguished the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Burlington Township Police Department, in cooperation with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, the Burlington Township Fire Official, and the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office.
At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
