WEBSTER, MA — A man wanted on multiple witness intimidation charges was arrested following a brief surveillance operation Friday evening.
Barry Hanson was taken into custody at approximately 5:09 p.m. after officers conducted a traffic stop on Main Street.
Worcester Police Gang Unit officers had requested assistance from Webster Police to locate Hanson, who was wanted on three separate counts of intimidation of a witness.
Worcester Police had information that Hanson was at an apartment on Robinson Street in Webster.
Webster Police officers assigned to the evening shift set up surveillance on the suspected apartment.
Officer Sean Ebbeling observed Hanson enter a rental vehicle and drive away from the area at a high rate of speed.
Officers conducted a traffic stop once Hanson entered Main Street, and he was taken into custody by Worcester Police.
At the time of his arrest, Hanson had 11 open charges on his criminal record.
Seven of the 11 charges were for possessing firearms without a permit as a career criminal and convicted felon, and possession of large capacity firearms.
