Woman cited for leaving scene of crashes in Jericho, Essex

JERICHO, VT — Vermont State Police cited a woman after she allegedly struck two vehicles and left the scene on Nov. 6.

At approximately 4:54 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle operating erratically traveling north on Browns Trace Road toward Vermont Route 15.

A black 2024 BMW X3 struck a vehicle operated by Austin Brown, 24, of Lincoln, at the intersection of Browns Trace Road and Vermont Route 15 and did not stop, police said.

The BMW then struck another vehicle on Vermont Route 15, east of Browns Trace Road, operated by Travis Bruner, 42, of Underhill, and left the scene, according to police.

No injuries were reported.

The operator of the BMW traveled into Essex, where the vehicle was intercepted by the Essex Police Department.

The operator was identified as Anita Bourgeois, 54, of Middlesex.

Bourgeois was issued a citation to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court on Dec. 18 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
