Two arrested on assault charges in Nanticoke

NANTICOKE, NY — New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Binghamton arrested two people Nov. 5 in connection with a stabbing that occurred during a road rage incident.

Ashton M. Pratt, 20, and Amy Lynn Mills, 30, both of Glen Aubrey, were charged with assault in the first degree, a class B felony, and assault in the second degree, a class D felony.

Troopers from SP Binghamton responded to a report of a stabbing on State Route 26 in the town of Nanticoke just after 8:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

The investigation revealed that a road rage incident between two vehicles escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in a 40-year-old male victim being stabbed.

The victim reported that an unknown male and female exited their vehicle.

Mills is accused of grabbing the victim by his sweatshirt, while Pratt is accused of stabbing the victim in the upper body.

The victim and his passenger were able to flee the area and later called 911.

The victim was transported to Wilson Hospital for treatment; his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Through a collaborative effort among multiple State Police units, both suspects were located Nov. 5 and taken into custody without incident.

Pratt and Mills were processed at SP Binghamton and transported to the Broome County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.
