ALBANY, NY — Police are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy wounded Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to the area of Hummel Terrace and Second Avenue around 8 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found the teen with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.
The shooting is believed to have occurred near the basketball courts.
The victim was treated at the scene by the Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel before being transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
