Woman arrested on vehicular assault charge in Keene

KEENE, NH — A Plymouth, Massachusetts woman has been arrested following a July motorcycle crash that seriously injured a Keene motorcyclist.

Crystal Doolan, 40, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, was charged with vehicular assault, a class A misdemeanor, Keene police announced Wednesday.

Police said their investigation determined Doolan was driving a 2020 Mercedes E class sedan and performed a prohibited U-turn on Route 101 just east of the Winchester Street roundabout on July 7.

The illegal maneuver resulted in a collision with an eastbound motorcycle operated by Teagan Cairns, 23, of Keene, according to police.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:53 a.m. in the eastbound lane of Route 101 exiting the roundabout.

Cairns was transported to Cheshire Medical Center and subsequently airlifted for advanced treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

Doolan was also transported to Cheshire Medical Center for medical care following the crash.

An adult male passenger in the Mercedes was uninjured.

Doolan was released on personal recognizance bail with an arraignment date of Dec. 8 in 8th Circuit Court in Keene.
