LAKEWOOD, NJ — Two men were arrested and charged with weapons offenses following a multi-agency investigation into the illegal possession and distribution of firearms in Ocean County.
Michael Daluesio, 43, of Seaside Heights, was arrested Oct. 27 after detectives observed him operating a rented vehicle in Lakewood.
Nathan Miller, 31, of Seaside Heights, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Detectives conducted surveillance as Daluesio traveled to a public park, where they observed him exit the vehicle and enter a portable toilet.
Miller, who had moved into the driver’s seat, was detained without incident.
Daluesio was arrested as he exited the portable toilet.
Detectives searched the portable toilet and located a 9mm handgun and loose ammunition in a paper bag.
The handgun was reported stolen out of Montgomery, Alabama.
Investigation revealed a second handgun was stored in a storage unit in Toms River used by Miller.
Detectives executed a search warrant on the storage unit and Daluesio’s vehicle Oct. 27.
A .380 caliber handgun reported stolen out of Mobile, Alabama, and drug paraphernalia were recovered.
Daluesio was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, being a certain person not to possess a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and wandering to obtain/distribute a controlled dangerous substance.
Miller was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and wandering to obtain/distribute a controlled dangerous substance.
Both men were transported to the Ocean County Jail pending detention hearings.
