ST. ARMAND, NY — A Saranac Lake man was arrested on domestic violence charges following an incident at a residence on Cantwell Way.

Dustin A. Yarrish, 33, of Saranac Lake, was taken into custody at approximately 11:28 a.m. on Nov. 3.

New York State Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in progress at the residence.

Troopers determined that Yarrish became upset with the victim, leading to a verbal argument.

He then assaulted the victim by attempting to take away their cell phone, which prevented the victim from contacting law enforcement, according to police.

Investigation also confirmed that an active order of protection was in place, safeguarding the victim from Yarrish.

Yarrish was charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and aggravated family offense.

He was taken to State Police barracks in Ray Brook for processing.

Yarrish was arraigned in the Town of St. Armand and remanded to Essex County Jail.
