ROCKINGHAM, VT — Four men were arrested on drug trafficking and vehicle theft charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 91 on Nov. 4.
Troopers with the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 91 near mile marker 24.2 at approximately 10:01 a.m.
Troopers followed the vehicle and received information that it was stolen.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop at the Exit 6 off-ramp at mile marker 35.
An investigation revealed that the occupants were in possession of fentanyl and cocaine.
Derrick Wooding, 46, of East Hartford, Connecticut, Zakee Habeeb-Ullah, 47, of East Hartford, Connecticut, Stephen Davidson, 34, of Middletown, Connecticut, and Michael Hayes, 63, of St. Johnsbury, were arrested.
Davidson was operating the stolen vehicle.
Wooding had failed to return the vehicle to a rental car company after being the authorized renter.
All four men were charged with trafficking fentanyl, transporting fentanyl, fentanyl possession, theft of rental property, possession of stolen property, possession of cocaine, trafficking cocaine and operating without owner’s consent.
The men were issued criminal citations and ordered to be lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.
They are scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on Nov. 5 at 12:30 p.m.
