Three arrested on drug charges in Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — Three people were arrested following a narcotics investigation at a local hotel, police said.

Members of the Meriden Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit conducted an investigation into ongoing narcotics activity at 900 East Main Street during the fall months, according to police.

The location, a Comfort Inn, has been the subject of previous drug investigations and complaints, police said.

On Oct. 30, detectives conducted surveillance in the hotel parking lot and observed suspicious activity consistent with street-level drug dealing, according to police.

Detectives made contact with several individuals in a red Infiniti involved in what was believed to be a suspected drug transaction, police said.

Upon noticing detectives, the operator of the Infiniti attempted to flee the area but was stopped by detectives, according to police.

Police recovered approximately 14.48 grams of fentanyl packaged for sale, approximately 12.59 grams of cocaine, approximately 5 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, and approximately 9.78 grams of crack cocaine.

Jomar Garcia, of New Haven, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell and held on $250,000 bond.

Hector Serrano, of West Hartford, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, interfering with police, misuse of registration plates, and no insurance and held on $350,000 bond.

Gaki Flowers, of Hartford, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a drug factory and held on a $350,000 bond.
