Three arrested after confrontation with parole officers in Campbell

CAMPBELL, NY — Three men face felony charges following a confrontation with New York State Parole officers during Halloween compliance checks.

New York State Parole officers conducting a routine compliance visit at a residence on County Route 4 on Oct. 31 encountered escalating hostility from individuals on the property, according to state police.

The officers disengaged due to safety concerns and reported the incident.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and uniform troopers initiated a follow-up investigation.

State police returned to the residence on Nov. 1 as part of the ongoing investigation.

Two individuals failed to comply with lawful orders during the response and were taken into custody after a brief encounter, police said.

Percy W. Shaw, 74, of Campbell, was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.

Neil D. Shaw, 51, of Campbell, was charged with menacing a police officer or peace officer, a felony; two counts of obstructing governmental administration; and criminal possession of a weapon.

Mark D. Shaw, 51, of Campbell, was charged with menacing a police officer or peace officer, a felony; two counts of obstructing governmental administration; criminal possession of a weapon; and resisting arrest.

All three were processed at state police barracks in Painted Post and transported to Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment.
