CLIFTON PARK, NY — The Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash Thursday at 8:02 p.m. at the intersection of Ushers and Longkill Roads.
Investigation into the crash led to the arrest of Brent S. Babbie, 35, of Porter Corners for DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater and failure to use due care at an intersection.
Babbie is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition and at a time when his blood alcohol content was 0.17%.
He is also charged with failing to obey the directions of every sign, signal or marking pertaining to an intersection.
Babbie’s vehicle had reportedly been traveling south on Longkill Road when it crossed into the opposite lane of travel in the roadway, and struck a reflector sign, several trees and a cemetery sign.
He was not injured in the crash and was released on appearance tickets pending proceedings in the Clifton Park Town Court.
