WESTBROOK, ME — A transient was arrested on multiple charges following an investigation into several motor vehicle burglaries in October.
The Westbrook Police Department investigated the burglaries that occurred on Middle and Union Streets.
Officers located evidence and identified a suspect.
Police obtained an arrest warrant, and the suspect was located and arrested by the Portland Police Department.
Matthew Beausoleil, 26, a transient, was charged with three counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, three counts of felony theft, criminal mischief and violation of conditions of release.
The investigation involved three patrol officers working together to follow up on leads.
Several other motor vehicle burglaries remain under investigation.
Police said all the doors of the burglarized vehicles were unlocked.
