Animal cruelty charges filed in Corinth

CORINTH, NY — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to an animal complaint on Oct. 18 on Suey Road in the town of Corinth.

Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of the following person Thursday for two counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide proper sustenance (class A misdemeanors).

Christopher Newman (age 55) of Corinth was arrested.

Newman is accused of keeping a male and a female German Shepherd in unsanitary conditions without adequate food and water.

The animals were seized by court order and transferred to the care and custody of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

He was released on appearance tickets pending proceedings in the Corinth Town Court.
