Man arrested on fugitive charge in Pelham

PELHAM, NH — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man wanted in Massachusetts on multiple charges involving a child.

Officer McCarthy stopped a Ford Explorer in the parking lot of 32 Bridge Street at approximately 10:23 a.m. on Nov. 2.

The registered owner of the vehicle, Zecariah Rodriguez, 35, of Manchester, New Hampshire, had a warrant from Dracut, Massachusetts, for two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and three counts of aggravated statutory rape of a child.

Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

He was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail following his arrest.

Rodriguez is being held on preventative detention while awaiting the extradition process to Massachusetts.
