LAGRANGE, NY — Members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway on Oct. 31 at approximately 2:32 p.m. for a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Jaquon L. Dancy, 30, of Poughkeepsie.
State Police K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 2,359 grams of cocaine, 235 grams of fentanyl, and $1,435 in cash.
Dancy was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 1st degree, a class A-I felony, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, a class B felony.
Dancy was arraigned before the Town of LaGrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center.
