SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A Rocky Hill couple was arrested on theft-related charges stemming from an incident at a Target store.

David A. Fonda, 42, and Stephanie M. Fonda, 44, both of Rocky Hill, were arrested Friday on active arrest warrants.

Police said the charges stem from an investigation into an incident at Target at 125 Buckland Hills Drive in August.

Investigators determined that David and Stephanie Fonda, who had previously been trespassed from Target for prior shoplifting incidents, attempted to steal approximately $1,200 worth of merchandise on Aug. 31 at 9:40 a.m.

Police said the couple noticed Target loss prevention personnel at the front of the store and left the items inside before fleeing.

David Fonda was charged with criminal trespass in the first degree, criminal attempt at larceny in the fourth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

He was processed and presented at Manchester Superior Court on Friday, as he was already in state custody on charges from other jurisdictions.

Stephanie Fonda turned herself in Sunday at 11 p.m.

She was processed and released on a $2,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Nov. 19 at 9 a.m.
