Man arrested on warrants in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Warwick man was arrested on multiple bench warrants following a traffic stop on Elmwood Avenue.

Luiz Pimental, 30, of Warwick, was taken into custody at 9:39 a.m. by state troopers.

He faces three Third Division District Court bench warrants for failure to appear for pretrial conference on an original charge of driving with a suspended license.

Pimental also faces a Providence Family Court bench warrant for a reciprocal body attachment for a non-criminal charge.

He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and later taken to the ACI Men’s Intake Center.

In a separate incident, Giny Pierce, 28, of Westerly, was arrested at 9:59 a.m. for disorderly conduct.

The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation, and Pierce was located at her residence and taken into custody.

She was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released with a future Third District Court date.

Shane Millerick, 33, of Waltham, Massachusetts, was arrested at 1:21 a.m. for driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs, B.A.C. unknown, first offense, and refusal to submit a chemical test.

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on Route 146 in Lincoln.

Millerick was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court.

Emmett Blyden, 55, of Providence, was arrested at 1:26 a.m. for driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs, B.A.C. unknown, first offense, refusal to submit a chemical test and obstructing an officer in execution of duty.

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on Chalkstone Avenue in Providence.

Blyden was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and held overnight as a probation violator.
