PROVIDENCE, RI — State Police made three arrests early Thursday morning, including one on an outstanding warrant and two on drunken driving charges.
At 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, troopers arrested Joelfri De La Cruz, 27, of Cranston, on an affidavit and arrest warrant.
De La Cruz faces charges of forgery and counterfeiting, obtaining property by false pretenses/personation over $10,000, and fraudulent checks over $1,500.
The arrest was the result of an investigation by troopers and the Providence Police Department.
De La Cruz was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and held overnight as a bail violator.
At 2:45 a.m., troopers arrested Leoangel Dume Weeks, 26, of Providence, for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with a blood alcohol content of .15 or greater, first offense.
The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Route 6.
Dume Weeks recorded blood alcohol levels of .162 percent and .157 percent on two breath tests.
He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
At 3:10 a.m., troopers arrested Manuel Matzatz, 26, of Providence, for driving under the influence, second offense, and refusal to submit a chemical test.
The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Union Avenue.
Matzatz was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
