ANSONIA, CT — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Pershing Drive on Sept. 24.
Isac Saravia, 26, of Ansonia, was arrested on Oct. 29 and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
The accident resulted in the death of Adonis Lapuppet-Bligen.
Detectives learned during the investigation that Saravia was driving his own car and following closely behind the car driven by Lapuppet-Bligen just before the accident.
With assistance from the Fairfield Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit, investigators determined that Saravia and Lapuppet-Bligen were traveling at approximately 80 mph prior to the accident.
The investigation was unable to establish probable cause that the cars were racing.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner concluded that Lapuppet-Bligen’s cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was accident.
A toxicology report showed that Lapuppet-Bligen had a blood alcohol content of .089 at the time of the accident.
A BAC of .080 is considered intoxicated in Connecticut.
Saravia posted a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Derby Superior Court for arraignment on Nov. 12.
