PRINCETOWN, NY — State Police arrested two people on warrants stemming from an alleged assault and attempted robbery of a tow truck operator in November 2024.

Ahzir M. Turner, 27, of Schenectady, was arrested Oct. 22 on charges of attempted robbery in the second degree and assault in the third degree.

Dominique M. Kenyatta, 29, of Slingerlands, was arrested Oct. 29 on a charge of attempted robbery in the second degree.

On Nov. 29, 2024, at about 1:23 a.m., troopers responded to a location near Mariaville Road for a report of an assault.

The investigation determined a tow truck operator had been called to the location to assist Kenyatta after her vehicle went off the roadway.

Turner drove to the location in a separate vehicle to assist Kenyatta.

The tow operator was paid an agreed-upon price and the vehicle was returned to the roadway.

After the service was provided, Turner and Kenyatta began arguing with the victim about the already paid cost of the winch-out.

During the argument, Turner allegedly struck and injured the tow truck operator.

Turner and Kenyatta then allegedly attempted to restrain the victim and steal the victim’s wallet.

On Oct. 22, with assistance from the Rotterdam Police Department, Turner was arrested during a traffic stop in Rotterdam.

He was transported to State Police Princetown for processing and then to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

On Oct. 29, Kenyatta surrendered herself to State Police Princetown, where she was arrested and processed.

She was arraigned at Princetown Town Court and released under the supervision of the Schenectady County Probation Department.
